About St Augustin’s Primary School
Although St Augustine’s is currently a 3-11 Catholic School, a large proportion of children from other denominations have been offered places because their parents wish their children to be educated in a school with a Christian ethos. This follows the tradition for which the school was founded.
There are at present, 226 children on roll and our maximum in-take limit is 30 pupils in Reception. There are 26 part-time places available for children aged 3-4 in the Nursery Class.
A happy atmosphere exists where priest, parents, children, staff and governors work together to create a school that will lay a sound foundation for life.
The school itself is the property of the Roman Catholic Diocese of East Anglia. As a Voluntary Aided School the maintenance of the premises is partly the responsibility of the Governing Body.
Since 1997 the school has gone from strength to strength raising standards in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, ICT and Early Years.
